Statement from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, BenCham PRD

Messages from the Consul Generals from Belgium and the Netherlands in Guangzhou

Dear Members,

Dear Friends of BenCham,

Now that China is starting to control the epidemic, we are also getting positive news from our home countries. In the three Benelux countries, we're seeing an easing of restrictions and restarting of the economy.

The last three months have been a difficult time for many of us, and there are many challenges still lying in front of us. We also know and hear many stories of Benelux companies that don't sit still and are working tirelessly to keep their business up and running.

I am very proud and honored of our close relationship with the respective consulates of Belgium and The Netherlands. Both Consul Generals have recorded a personal message for our business community, which is included in this post.

Joris Salden, Consul General at Consulate General of Belgium in Guangzhou

Michiel Bierkens, Consul General at Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou

It is also with regret that I inform you of my decision to resign my position as Chairman of The Board of Directors of BenCham PRD effective June 1, 2020. Due to the current crisis, my company has ceased activities in mainland China, and we, my family and I, have decided to move permanently to Hong Kong. Because of this development, I'm unable to fulfill my requirements as Chairman of The Board, and I feel I should make room for someone with the time and energy to devote to the job.
I will continue to support the BenCham PRD, and I put forward my candidacy to stay with BenCham as a board member.

Please note that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce (PRD) in China will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

We are still looking for energetic and entrepreneurial business people to play a central role in the development of the BenCham in South China. If you wish to be considered as a candidate for the Board of Directors, please reach out to us!

I remain proud of the progress that we have made over the last years, and I am sure that BenCham PRD will continue to prosper in the future.

Sincerely,

Kevin Cremer

Chairman of the Board of Directors, BenCham PRD
